A rare example of Eastern European Space Age design, this set demonstrates the extent to which furniture designers who found themselves behind the Iron Curtain could fantasize. Set on futuristic, flat cone bases, the sofa and the armchairs represent a departure from classic four-legged seating units, not to mention that the two armchairs swivel. Another powerful detail that they share are the thick chrome-plated metal armrests which give the soft cushions a robust twist. The brown upholstery is in good condition, and the inner sponge is still elastic.
