A simple, decorative American studio glass bowl by Vermont-based Charles Henry "Chet" Cole (1938-2017) for his own furnace, Country Glass. It has very thick walls of dusty pink and slightly bubbly glass with an attractive turned rim. It dates to the 1980s.
A simple, decorative American studio glass bowl by Vermont-based Charles Henry “Chet” Cole (1938-2017) for his own furnace, Country Glass. It has very thick walls of dusty pink and slightly bubbly glass with an attractive turned rim. It dates to the 1980s.
Cole trained at Orrefors in Sweden, and studied under Harvey Littleton, one of the pioneers of American studio glass. After opening his studio, c.1976, he worked primarily with recycled glass, usually utilising cullet from the Fenton factory.
