Iconic and particular small square box in fine porcelain multi colored porcelain and zecchino gold finish; It is an exclusive and characteristic product built between 1897 and 1900 from the famous Galluba & Hofmann company in Limenau in Thuringia (Germany). The Porcellane Galluba & Hofmann factory was founded in Limenau on 6 June 1888. Shortly after his foundation, the factory met a rapid rise, so much so that two years after his foundation he already used 80 people, in 1891 he passed from 100 and over 500 in 1897. From an artistic point of view, the factory products were of the highest level and they were often awarded at fairs and exhibitions. In 1897 the company at the “Industrial and Commercial Exhibition of Saxony-Thuringia in Leipzig received a gold premium, which led the Grand Ducal family of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach to visit the factory several times and stock up for various porcelain jewelry . In 1900 the porcelain manufacture participated in the world exhibition in Paris where he received the “Mention Honorable” award. This award has further increased sales of Galluba & Hofmann products in France. The period of maximum splendor of the factory ended with the First World War, following which markets in France and the United States collapsed. There was no interest in German porcelain. In the 1920s he began a slow decline. Finally, the great depression has given the company its fatal blow when it has failed and had to cease production in 1929. The products of the “GALLUBA & HOFMANN” brand are now rare and were mainly stored from the period between 1895 and 1914 . Because the brand on our box is not very visible, we added two photos of the same brand resumed from books specialized in porcelain. Measures width cm.8, depth cm.8, height cm.5. For all our expeditions we use special packaging materials (wooden cases, polystyrene, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of objects.
