Michael Bang (1942-2013) was a Danish glass designer best known for his work at Holmegaard Glasvrk in Denmark.
He began his career at Bjrn Wiinblad’s workshop and later at Den Kongelige Porcelnsfabrik in Copenhagen.
from 1968 to 2000 he worked at Holmegaard, where he designed several famous glass products.Michael Bang’s design style combined simplicity and function with the Scandinavian lifestyle, making him one of the most prominent glass artists in Denmark.
Holmegaard Glasvrk, founded in 1825, was Denmark’s oldest glassworks and was located in Holmegaard in southern Zealand. It was known for its elegant glass products and was an important part of Scandinavian glass design.
