1950s Pel – Cox Tubular Metal Outdoor Dining Chairs with Green Seats – Quantity Available. One of the all time classic British chairs inspired by the contemporary designs of Bauhaus. The most famous producer in England was PEL, but several other manufacturers produced the same design. These chairs were originally made with canvas slings which rotted many years ago and we have simply salvaged the original elegant frames, and in our own workshops fitted them with custom made sheet aluminium seats and backs, powder coated green. A contemporary way to save beautiful original frames. The original PEL frames have been cleaned and protected with wax and the aluminium seats will last outdoors in perpetuity. Please note the painted surface is durable, but as shown will damage when stacked as has occurred in our warehouse and you will receive chairs with marks. Seat height 45cm. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
