Floor lamp Noce designed by Achille Castiglioni and produced by Flos, 1970s. It owes its name to the rounded shape that suggests a walnut.
Noce is made up of two overlapping and matching shells. The base is made of red painted die-cast metal and houses a reflective sheet of aluminum sheet and one lamp holder for a E26/27 bulb on the bottom; the cover is made of shatterproof printed glass. These elements are joined by a die-cast collar.
The lamp is heavy and can (according to an article on this design in Domus) be moved on the floor by pushing it with ones foot. It can also be used as a wall lamp or a table lamp.
