An extremely rare and large vintage architectural glass ceiling lamp, a part of Swedish Modern Abstract Art Glass from the 1960s, in cooperation with Hans Bersgstrm for Atelje Lyktan. This is a very beautiful brutalist art lamp, which showcases Hglund’s immense talent as a designer. It is a fusion of high-end glassblowing and skillful metal work in a naive near brutalist manner. The lamp is made of metal with 6 large and 6 smaller glass figures which are encased in a hexagon shape with a round top. The glass figures are typical of his work and depicts various forms of bulls to human faces to dogs all in a warm red near orange color and the sit in beautiful, welded metal, held up with a metal chain. Once lit up the glass figures gives a warm ambient feeling.
The lamp is 33cm (12.92″) high and nearly 50cm (19.68″) in diameter and the metal chain is 40cm (15.74″) (one of the loops is open) the larger glass parts are 12cm (4.72″) in diameter and the smaller 6cm (2.36″) in diameter.
