Lemon & Pears Still Life, 1950s, Tempera, Framed for sale at Pamono

A brilliantly executed and characterful surrealist still life composition, executed in tempera on board and dated 1980, by the established Swedish artist Eric Cederberg (1897-1984), whose artworks have been represented in several public and museum collections across Sweden. The artwork captures an arrangement of bright yellow lemons and rich purple grapes resting in a blue bowl, complemented by green pears placed on a deep red tabletop. A brown pitcher stands in the background, along with patterned wallpaper and a blue wall, adding depth and contrast to the scene. Inviting viewers to revel in the simple beauty of everyday objects, the artist masterfully captures the essence of realism through his meticulous brushwork and keen attention to detail, as well as by simplifying the objects into bold, flat shapes.
