This spectacular ball-shaped pendant lamp is made of “cadiz” shell. A product from the Philippines popular in the 1960s. The individual petals are thin pieces of pearl shell edged in metal. A real handcrafted piece. The effect, when illuminated, transforms the silvery gray of the lamp’s petals into a stunning palette of browns, grays and creams. Ideal focal point to complement a modern interior of trendy tones. The maker is a German firm called Rausch and is believed to be inspired by Verner Panton’s shell lamp designs from that period. It has a strong steel wire to hold it from the ceiling and approximately 1 meter of cable.
