Rare wall/ceiling lamp, Italy, 1973 Kazuhide Takahama was born in Japan in 1930 and after completing his studies in Architecture in Tokyo he started working in Kazuo Fuiokas studio. In 1957, he went to Italy to visit the Triennale in Milan where he met Dino Gavina. He developed his own well-defined style in a climate of profuse cultural exchanges. The furniture and lighting he designed often features clean lines and formal restraint. The Saori light belongs to a series that takes inspiration from traditional Eastern lamps, the rice-paper was replaced with fabric to get a unique and different way of dispersing the light. Takahama said This is how Saori Q, Kazuki and Kaori were born: lamps that took the names of members of our family, in no specific temporal order.
