Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern 1 bay shelving system model Cado with back panel. This is a original vintage floating bookcase designed by Danish architect Poul Cadovius.
Cadovius had the revolutionary idea to design a floating, modular shelving system that would maximize floor space and signify the end of conformity in shelving. He first designed the model Royal with brass shelf brackets and a few years later the model Cado with wooden shelf brackets. He also named the company Cado.
Versatile and flexible floating bookcase that allows for continuous rearranging to suit individual needs. Cabinet and shelves can be placed as desired. Suitable for both living room, home office or library.

This one bay wall unit has an almost sculptural appearance with its strict symmetrical lines against the beautiful expressive organic Rosewood grain pattern.

The cabinet with the double sliding doors features two shelves and a drawer, that are all adjustable.

Very good original vintage condition with only light patina consistent with age and use. Partial sun fading on the back panel, please see photo. All surfaces has been cleaned and polished, ready for use. Stunning Rosewood pattern.
