Double-sided hand mirror from the 1960s made of teak plywood.
There is much doubt about who the designer or manufacturer is. According to some sources the mirror was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and manufactured by AB Markaryd. Other sources (and the most likely) say the mirror was made by Bech & Starup for Den Permanente in Copenhagen.
What is certain is that this mirror radiates pure elegance and craftsmanship and has become a coveted object among mid-century enthusiasts.
Den Permanente was a store in Copenhagen that existed from the 1930s to the 1980s. It was a collective of designers and craftsmen who created a place to promote the best of modern Danish design. For many years it was the world’s leading source for the best Danish modern furniture, home accessories, lighting, jewelry, textiles and other crafts.
