This spectacular ball-shaped pendant lamp is made of “cadiz” shell. A product from the Philippines popular in the 1960s. The individual petals are thin pieces of pearl shell edged in metal. A truly handcrafted piece.. Ideal focal point to complement a modern interior of trendy coral tones. There is a small petal “door” on the bottom to access the bulb. Takes up to 100 watts. The maker is a German firm called Rausch and is believed to be inspired by Verner Panton’s shell lamp designs from that period.
