There is much doubt about who the designer or manufacturer is. According to some sources the mirror was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and manufactured by AB Markaryd. Other sources (and the most likely) say the mirror was made by Bech & Starup for Den Permanente in Copenhagen.

Den Permanente was a store in Copenhagen that existed from the 1930s to the 1980s. It was a collective of designers and craftsmen who created a place to promote the best of modern Danish design.
