The Axella ceramic workshop was started in the early 1970s by potter Aksel Larsen.
The workshop was only active until 1987.
The design is most likely Jette Hellere, who was designer and potter, for Axella, during most of their active years.
Jette Hellere (born 1943) is a Danish ceramist and designer best known for her work with Axella Keramik and BR Keramik during the 1960s and 1970s.
Hellere is known for her sculptural works, vases, reliefs and lamps, often with a characteristic Nordic and modernist expression. Her work combines brutalism and retro style, often with unique glazes and sgraffito patterns.
Many of her works are still sought after today.
