On the four sides around the composition, a decorative frame with flowers and festoons was painted with a brush and gray watercolor, probably shortly after the execution of the engraving. Plate from Le arti per via, series of 12 engravings from inventions by Francesco Maggiotto. Beautiful proof on Venetian laid paper with “three crescent” watermark and countermark letter “W”. Sheet with wide margins as in the original. Trace of horizontal fold in the center, very minor defects and slight trace of use. Ref. Marini 64
