Raak wall lamps model C-1556, designed by the Raak Design Team in 1958. These elegant lamps are characterised by their minimalist design and high-quality materials. Raak, founded in 1954, was known for its innovative lighting designs and at the time advertised with the slogan: We dont sell lamps, we sell light. The glass chalices of this model were manufactured by Peill & Putzler in Germany, while the metal luminaires at the time were produced by FAK metalware factory, later acquired by Raak. The company collaborated with an international network of designers, including Holm Srensen, Tapio Wirkkala, Maija-Liisa Komulainen and Nanny Still-Mackinney. These sconces are listed in Raak catalogue 2 from 1958 and catalogue 5. These vintage sconces are in very good and original condition with minimal signs of use. They measure 40 x 8.5 x 14.5 cm (h x w x d).
