A solid early to mid-20th-century oak fire screen.
Its small size and simplicity make it a very useful and attractive addition to today’s decor, aligning with the growing trend for clean lines and minimalistic design.
The frame is made of solid oak and, as was the prevalent style at the time, is stained in a dark wood finish. There are minor signs of wear commensurate with age on the frame; however, it remains in very good condition.
Within the frame is a delightful original tapestry. The brown background complements the wood beautifully, and the still-life design is rather charming.
The tapestry itself is well preserved, with only one tiny snag, which I have pointed out in the images. This is only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs for a closer look at the details and view the overall condition.
