An original 1960s Mid Century Ceiling Lamp designed and produced in former Czechoslovakia.
This type of ceiling lamp is often nicknamed the “Umbrella” for its similarities in the shape and form.
Its style dates back to the so called Czech Brussel style of the late 50s and early 60s which was an unique Czech Mid Century aesthetic inspired by the success of the Czech furniture at the Expo 58 in Brussels. There were many versions of these ceiling lamps but this particular design is very rare.
The lampshade is made of single bowl shaped glass with cut out, slightly bended corners. The smaller green painted part copy this shape while the brown lines resemble a flower shape motive. This decoration hides three horizontally placed bulb holders above.
This piece is in great vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks; only slight signs of some natural wear and tear on the steel parts. All parts are original and fully functional.
