The collaboration between designer George J. Sowden and Bitossi Ceramiche, which began in the early 1980s, is a vivid example of Bitossi’s ability to embrace innovation and contemporary design.
In 2004, Sowden presented Bitossi with a new project, a vase collection consisting of four different shapes. Each vase in this collection is a work of art, the result of a meticulous assembly process. The elements are turned from white earth and then assembled to create the structure of each piece: a round disc base, a central body, and an upper part. The decoration of these vases is characterised by an abstract pattern of waves and coloured sections.
Sowden’s design was also executed in a monochrome version in the white pantone, offering a more subdued but equally elegant alternative. In 2016, the collection was reissued in a limited run of 299 pieces per model, making each piece a rare addition for collectors and design lovers.
